Canton, NY – Savannah Hoffman scored her first career goal in the 75th minute to lead the SUNY Canton women's soccer team to a 1-1 draw against visiting Elmira College on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both teams had two shots on goal apiece in the opening half as neither team had many great scoring opportunities. The hosts and visitors went to intermission with a scoreless tie.
• The Soaring Eagles broke the tie early in the 64th minute when Tierney Krawcyzk's initial shot was blocked but her second shot went off the left post and in to give Elmira a 1-0 lead.
• The Roos drew even in the 75th minute after Elmira was whistled for a foul just outside the box. Hoffman took the direct kick placing a left-footed shot high just under the cross bar to knot things at one apiece.
• The game would end in a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes of play.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Elmira held slim advantages in shots on goal (6-4) and corner kicks (7-2).
• Skylar Williams made five saves in her first appearance of the season in net for the Roos, while Nevaeh Winston stopped three shots for the Soaring Eagles.
