Waterville, ME – Natalie Bartle recorded her third consecutive double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Roos to a 72-62 win v. Colby College in their second game of the Charlie Ryan Classic at Thomas College on Sunday.
The Roos (3-0) were the lone team to go unbeaten in the two-day tournament winning both of their contests. Colby and Thomas each split their two games with UMass Boston dropping a pair. The tournament did not feature a formal championship and consolation games as the second day matchups were pre-determined.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colby led 9-5 midway through the first quarter but a 6-0 run gave the Roos an 11-9 lead. The Mules led 14-13 after the opening quarter.
- Natalie Bartle hit back-to-back threes to open the second quarter and the Roos opened a 21-16 lead after a pair of Jayda Pina free throws. Neither team led by more than five in the quarter as the Roos took a 30-27 lead into intermission.
- Play was dead even at 16 apiece in the third quarter with Canton clinging to a 46-43 lead after 30 minutes of action.
- The Roos led 46-45 early in the fourth quarter and used a 16-1 run to blow open a 16-point lead (62-46) with 4:23 remaining. Sierra Pabo scored five straight points early in the run, Hope Aniceto added five points in the spurt and Bartle had four.
- The Mules used a 12-2 run to trim the deficit to just six (51-45) with 1:08 remaining and got within five after a layup with 48 seconds to play.
- Bartle hit four straight free throws and seven of eight in the final minute to help preserve the 72-62 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Bartle led all players with 27 points, 16 rebounds and tied a game-high with four steals including an 8-for-10 mark at the line. Aniceto finished with 15 points, while Pabo totaled 14 points and five rebounds. Torie Moore chipped in six points including four in the final five minutes of the game.
- Kate Olenik led the Mules with 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Lydia Mordarski posted a double-double on 12 points, 12 rebounds and four steals. Caroline Smith also reached double figures with 11 points.
- Colby had the upper hand in bench points (29-12), fast break points (14-4), points off turnovers (18-9) and rebounds (52-41).
- However, the Roos shot the ball much better hitting on 44% of their threes and 40% of their field goals while holding Colby to marks of just 17% and 29%, respectively.
- Canton also made more free throws (19) than Colby attempted (17).

The Roos return to the North Country on Wednesday when they visit Clarkson at 6 p.m.
