Sirena Alvarez made 39 saves for the SUNY Canton women's hockey team but the Roos dropped a Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) game 6-0 to the Cortland Red Dragons on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Red Dragons opened the scoring at 7:27 of the first period on a Grace Schnorr power play goal. Cortland would add two more scores by the end of the period on goals by Beth McArthur and Fanny Aneborn.
- The Roos were able to limit Cortland to one power play goal at 9:56 of the second on a Quinn Metcalfe goal.
- Schnorr scored another power play goal at 3:01 of the first to extend the lead to 5-0 and Nicole Tulowiecki chipped in another one minute later to complete the scoring for the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Juniors Gracyn Emmerton and Victoria McGarrity led the Roos with two shots on goal each.
- Alvarez made 39 saves for the Roos and Molly Goergen made 9 for Cortland.
- Canton was 0/2 on the power play and 4/7 on the penalty kill
- Cortland held a slight advantage in faceoffs 31-29.
