Bougor Records Four Hits as Baseball Closes out Season at NAC Tournament

Cobleskill, NY – Dyllon Bougor recorded four hits on the day but the SUNY Canton baseball team closed out its season with a pair of losses to Husson University and Thomas College on the opening day of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Baseball Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
  • The Roos scored one run each in the second, fourth, seventh and ninth innings but Husson plated 10 runs over the first three innings to earn a 13-4 win in the opening game of the NAC Baseball Tournament.
  • Frank Nieto scored Dylan Allen in the second inning with a sacrifice fly to center.
  • The Eagles scored one run in the first, four in the second and five in the third to lead 10-1 after three innings.
  • Alphonse Fuca scored on a passed ball in the fourth before Husson added two more runs in the sixth.
  • The Roos tacked on one run each in the seventh on a Bougor RBI single and in the ninth on a Nick Shoemaker RBI ground out, while Husson scored once in the eighth.
  • Bougor led the Roos going 3-for-5 with a double and RBI. Mackenzie Mather was 2-for-4 with a run and Fuca, Nieto, Allen and Nathan Welch all had one hit each.
  • Austin Snow drove in four runs for the Eagles, while Kobe Rogerson had three hits and 3 RBI.
  • Cam Graham picked up the win for Husson tossing 8.1 innings with seven strike outs and allowed just two earned runs.
  • Kieran Gibson took the loss giving up 10 earned runs with three strike outs and four walks in 7.1 innings. Greg Pinkney threw 0.2 scoreless innings in relief with a strike out.
 
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
  • SUNY Canton jumped out to a 3-2 lead after the opening inning in the nightcap. Fuca singled home Bougor and Mather laced a 2 RBI double scoring Shoemaker and Allen.
  • Thomas added four runs in the second, two in the fourth, five in the seventh and one in the ninth.
  • The Roos would tack on one more run in the sixth on a Nieto sacrifice fly scoring Zach Miner.
  • Mather led the Roos going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, while six players had one hit each.
  • Tony Meza and Lucas Harmon led the Terriers with three hits each and combined for 5 RBI.
  • Garrison Paillet earned the win on the mound tossing seven innings allowing three earned runs with six strike outs and a walk.
  • Gavin Neuland took the loss surrendering five earned runs with four walks in 6.1 innings.
