LoPiccolo’s Two Hits Leads Roos as Softball Closes out Season in NAC Tournament

Bangor, ME – Angelina LoPiccolo went 2-for-2 but Thomas College scored eight runs over the first two innings to earn a 9-0 win v. the SUNY Canton softball team in an elimination game at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Softball Tournament on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • Thomas pounded out three runs on four hits in the opening inning and added five runs on two hits and two errors in the second inning to open up a commanding 8-0 lead after two innings.
  • The Terriers added another run in the fourth to earn the 9-0 run-rule win in five innings.
  • LoPiccolo singled in both of her plate appearances, while Harris recorded the other Canton hit.
  • Bailey Dunphy led Thomas with a double on two hits with two runs and 3 RBI. Claudia Migliaccio helped her own cause driving in three runs.
  • Migliaccio earned the win on the mound allowing three hits and no runs on five strike outs and two walks in five innings.
  • Alaina Beane took the loss giving up six earned runs with four strike outs and three walks in four innings.

This concludes the softball team's 2022 season and their first NAC postseason berth.
