HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos had a great chance about 14 minutes in when Martin Torales played a nice through ball to Brennan Harmer on the left side. Harmer saved it from going over the end line right in front of goal but an UMPI defender was able to clear the ball away.
- Less than two minutes later the Roos got on the board. Agustin Nunez played a beautiful ball up the right side to Dylan Vanderpool. He played a cross to the far post where Michael Gavette converted a diving header into the left side of net.
- Canton nearly doubled their lead with 12:30 left in the opening half when Chris Escobar's shot struck off the cross bar and then the post and Gavette's header on the rebound went just high.
- The Roos added a second tally in the 38th minute when Randall picked up a loose ball in the box off a corner kick. His shot redirected off an Owl defender but the momentum of the shot carried into the back of the net for his first collegiate goal.
- Canton owned an 11-0 shots on goal advantage taking a two-goal lead into intermission.
- The Roos made it 3-0 in the 61st minute when Randall dribbled down the right side playing a cross to Joey Johnston in the middle as he put home his first goal of the season.
- The hosts made it 4-0 in the 71st minute when Escobar dribbled the ball up the left side finding Torales in the middle. Torales beat Owl keeper Xavier McAtee into the top left corner.
