Canton, NY – On a day the team celebrated its six seniors, it was freshman Michael Gavette who scored the game-winner just 15 seconds into the second half, giving the Roos a 2-0 victory over SUNY Delhi.

Prior to the game, SUNY Canton recognized the careers of graduating seniors Joey Johnston, Connor Kelley, Van Moussavou, Evan Petersen, Chris Cook and Agustin Nunez.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• SUNY Delhi outshot the Roos 3-2 in the first stanza in an otherwise evenly played half.
• Gavette's goal came after stealing a clearing pass right in front of the Bronco goal, spinning by the defender and blasting a shot in the lower left corner of the net.
• Freshman Chris Escobar scored an insurance goal at 89:33 – the first of his career.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Junior Owen Kwong earned the shutout, saving the only shot he faced for the Roos.  SUNY Delhi's Jonathan Walch stopped six.
• The goal was Gavette's sixth of the year and the victory was the team's fifth North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win.
• Sophomore Dylan Vanderpool and Freshman Kenan Bilong both had one shot on net each.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos earned the second seed in the West Division of the NAC Tournament.  They will face the Broncos again in the quarterfinal round at SUNY Poly on Saturday - times will be announced later this week.
