- Canton doubled the lead at 6:29 of the middle period with the skater advantage. Laitinen collected a loose puck at the end board and left it for MacIntyre outside the right circle. She beat two defenders and wristed a shot past Knights goaltender Michelle Windand-Bacon.
- Neumann was whistled for back-to-back penalties 14 seconds apart midway through the second period resulting in nearly two minutes of a 5-on-3 chance for the Roos. Just 22 seconds in the two-skater advantage paid off.
- Sandrene Garafolo fed Kosnaskie in the slot as her shot went just wide but the puck circled around the boards to MacIntyre. She skated in toward goal and ripped a slapshot that snuck past Windand-Bacon.
- Just 16 seconds after MacIntyre's second power play goal of the period the Knights were whistled for another infraction giving Canton another 5-on-3 opportunity, this one for 1 minute, 22 seconds. However, Neumann was able to kill off both penalties and keep the score within three.
