Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton Esports teams are off to a hot start to the fall 2021 season as the Roos have teams competing in several titles in both State University of New York (SUNY) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) play this fall.

In the SUNY league the Roos feature teams in Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty: MW Gunfight, Splitgate, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Overwatch, Guilty Gear Strive and Valorant.

SUNY Canton has squads competing in ECAC play in Overwatch, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant and Fortnite.

Through matches played on Saturday, October 23rd SUNY Canton's Esports teams boast a record of 68-54 overall.

The Roos are taking on schools much larger in size than their own, and have come away with impressive victories against schools like the University of Louisville, the University at Buffalo and Binghamton University to name a few.

"I am so happy that our SUNY Canton esports players are having a great season," SUNY Canton Esports Coordinator Charles Murray said. "Not only are the teams performing well but I know they are having a blast. The esports arena feels lively and vibrant again. It is great to see our students getting their heads back in the game."

SUNY PLAY
On October 5th the SUNY Canton Call of Duty: MW Gunfight team made up of
Mark Hager,
Jonathan Liberatore, Josh Lee and Michael Lynch
defeated Buffalo 3-1 in a best of five series in SUNY play.

The Roos continued to feature strong performances against the Bulls in SUNY action as Canton's team of
Joshua Civitello-King,
Andrew Johnson and
Matthew Deschenes swept Buffalo 3-0 in Rocket League play on October 19th.

SUNY Canton's Valorant team picked up a
2-0 sweep the following night against Binghamton University.

Gavin Decker,
My Dang and
Nicholas Sclafani-Zamora were on the winning side for the Roos v. the Bearcats on October 20th.

ECAC PLAY
The Roos have already picked up a pair of victories against Louisville in ECAC play this fall. On October 14th the Rocket League 'A' squad
defeated the Cardinals 3-1. Team members who helped the Roos to victory include

In ECAC competition the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 'A' team is currently unbeaten at 3-0 with a 2-1 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas University (9/27) and 2-0 sweeps over Central Maine Community College (10/4) and Loyola University Maryland (10/13). They put their unbeaten streak on the line
tonight (10/25) v. Saint Francis University. Members of the Roos SSBU 'A' team include

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS – ECAC
This past Saturday Canton's League of Legends 'A' team picked up a big
2-1 victory against a strong Louisville squad.
Bennett Martino (Top),
Garrett Bresett (Jungle),
Denny Gao (Mid),
Alec Knowles (ADC) and
Thomas Nagle (Support) helped lead the Roos to the victory.

Currently, SUNY Canton's League of Legends 'B' team is 4-0, while the 'A' team sits at 3-1 with its lone loss coming with some technology issues with a student home on break. Both teams are positioned extremely well with just a few weeks until playoffs.
