HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visitors didn't take long opening the scoring in the fifth minute when Richards played a through ball forward to Chris Robertson. Robertson touched it to his left at the top of the box avoiding a charging Petersen coming off his line for the Roos. He placed a left-footed shot into the open net for his fourth goal of the season.
- Plattsburgh added a second goal 13 minutes later. Devin Lambe beat a defender to his left dribbling toward the box and played a low shot into the right corner for the 2-0 advantage.
- The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead into intermission after holding a 5-0 shots on goal edge in the opening 45 minutes.
- Richards scored two goals three minutes apart early in the second half to extend the lead to four. His first goal came off a failed clearance from the Roos defense and the second came off a rebound of a Robertson shot initially saved by Petersen.
- Tyler Petersen finished with seven saves for the Roos, while James McGarrity made one save for the Cardinals.
- Alex Kenmogne registered the lone shot on goal for the Roos.
