Susac Posts 28 Saves as Roos Open CHC Play with Shutout v. Seahawks

Canton, NY – Brooke Susac stopped all 28 shots she faced to carry the women's hockey team to a 3-0 road win at Salve Regina University in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) opener for both teams on Friday evening.

Ashley Gillies opened the scoring midway through the first period off passes from Whitney Bernier and Grace Page as the Roos led by one after 20 minutes.

Alexa Parigi doubled the Roos (1-1-1, 1-0-0 CHC) lead at 56 seconds of the third period with the skater advantage off the setup from Breanna Bedborough. Noelle Niemiec found Sarah Kosnaskie for her first collegiate goal at 9:21 of the third to seal the win.

Susac made 28 saves for the Roos, while Jennifer O'Connell made 24 stops for Salve Regina (0-3-0, 0-1-0 CHC).
