Cortland, NY – Brooke Susac made 27 saves for her third shutout of the season as the SUNY Canton women's hockey team earned a 4-0 road win at SUNY Cortland on Tuesday.
Sydney Kinder scored her second goal of the season to break a scoreless tie less than two minutes into the middle period off passes from
Jessica Pele and
Mariah McCue.
Grace Page went post and in at the 16:43 mark to double the Roos lead off passes from
Tessa Dobson and Pele. Less than two minutes later
Kaylah Menchaca gave Canton a 3-0 lead when
Tess Adams found her for her second goal of the season.
Margret Troiano also earned a helper on the play.
Dobson earned a goal of her own to ice the game with 57 seconds remaining off passes from Kinder and Pele.
Susac made 27 saves to earn her third shutout, setting the single-season program record, while Kelly Farinella turned aside 26 shots for Cortland.
The women's hockey team is back in action for a key Colonial Hockey Conference series v. Becker on Saturday and Sunday. Puck drop is set for 7 and 2 p.m., respectively.
