Susac Stops Career-High 43 as Women’s Hockey Opens Weekend CHC Set at Endicott

CHS BOX SCORE

Beverly, MA – Brooke Susac made a career-high 43 saves but the Endicott women's hockey team scored a pair of power play goals on its way to a 4-0 win against the SUNY Canton women's hockey team on Friday evening.

With the win the Gulls improve to 16-2-1 overall and remain unbeaten in Colonial Hockey Conference play at 7-0-0. The Roos drop to 7-9-1 overall and 2-3-0 in conference play.

After an extremely even opening period the host Gulls capitalized with just 29 seconds left. Brooke Susac stopped Meaghan Farragher's initial shot but the rebound went right to Samantha Fuller who put home her first goal of the season inside the right post.

Endicott doubled its lead just 2:16 into the middle period when Michaela McNamara found Jillian Gibbs in the slot who one-timed her sixth goal of the season past the blocker of Susac for the 2-0 lead. The Gulls added a power play goal at 7:05 of the frame when Farragher's initial shot from the point was saved but Gibbs put home the rebound as the Gulls led 3-0 after two.

The Gulls added a third period insurance goal from Lexi Klein for the 4-0 final. Brooke Susac made 43 saves between the pipes for the Roos, while Vendela Jonsson stopped all 28 shots she faced in the shutout.
