Cortland, NY – SUNY Cortland scored three times in the first half on its way to a 7-0 win against the SUNY Canton men's soccer team on Sunday afternoon.
Nick Tata tallied his 10th and 11th goals of the season eight minutes apart to open up a 2-0 lead. Tyler Kirschner slotted his fourth goal of the season three minutes after Tata's second tally as the Red Dragons (15-2) took a 3-0 lead into intermission.
Daniel Friend added his fifth marker of the season in the 53rd minute and Jack Sumski also scored on a header two minutes later to extend the hosts lead to five. Kirschner added his second of the game and Derek Beers scored with less than two minutes remaining for the 7-0 final.
Mouhammed Thiam (New York, NY) made four saves over the first 58:26, while
Austin Lamay (Malone, NY) stopped three shots over the final 31:34 for the Roos (6-10-1). Connor Young made three saves in the win for the Red Dragons.
