Fulton Records Fourth Double-Double in Setback v. Mustangs

Morrisville, NY – Senior Caseylynn Fulton (Saint Cloud, MN) tallied her fourth double-double of the season in her seventh contest of the season but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team dropped a 71-52 road contest to Morrisville State College on Wednesday afternoon.

Fulton paced the Roos (1-7) with 19 points and 10 rebounds and added three steals and two blocks. Brianna Sayer (Hermon, NY) posted 16 points and nine rebounds, while Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) added eight points. Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY) finished with a team-high six assists but committed a costly game-high 13 turnovers.

Haley Kilmartin led the Mustangs (5-4) with a game-high 28 points, while Caitlynn Adams added a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.
SUNY Canton jumped out to an early 4-0 advantage behind a pair of buckets inside from Terrance and Fulton. With the game knotted at 10 with 2:56 remaining in the opening quarter, Morrisville closed the stanza on a 9-0 run to take a commanding 19-10 lead after one.

The Roos trimmed the deficit to four but Morrisville responded with an 8-0 run as they continued to hold a 12 point advantage (33-21) at intermission.

The Mustangs controlled play the remainder of the contest leading to the 71-52 victory. SUNY Canton turned the ball over 22 times leading to 21 points off turnovers for the hosts. Morrisville also held the edge in points in the paint, 42-26.
