Shelton, CT – The SUNY Canton women's ice hockey team was unable to overcome an early deficit dropping a 4-0 decision to host Sacred Heart University Friday evening.
Megan Ofner made it 1-0 Pioneers 17:10 into the first period on the power play and added her second score of the game 108 seconds later as Sacred Heart led 2-0 after the first period.
Emily Falvey made it 3-0 15:16 into the second and Alanna Woodford added a third period score for the 4-0 final.
Rebecca DiNardo (Ottawa, ON) stopped 22 shots in net for SUNY Canton, while Amanda Fontaine made 13 saves for the Pioneers. Sacred Heart went 1-for-4 with the extra skater, while the Roos were 0-for-3.
