Box Score Troy, NY – Katlyn Hart (Harrisville, NY) netted her ninth and 10th scores of the season in the opening 31 minutes as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with host Sage Colleges Tuesday afternoon. The tie moves the Kangaroos to 7-9-3 as they end their season, while the Gators are now 4-10-1 on the year.
The Roos got the scoring started 13:37 in when
Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) fed Hart for her ninth score of the season to open up the early lead. Hart tallied her second marker of the game also off a pass from Terrance in the 31st minute to give SUNY Canton a commanding, 2-0 lead.
Sage would respond seven minutes later when Nicole Maher took a pass from Alexandra Robert and beat Roo keeper
Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) into the left side of net. The Roos took a 2-1 lead into intermission.
Despite SUNY Canton dominating play in the second half to the tune of a 14-5 shots and 8-4 shots on goal advantage it was the host Gators who found the equalizer in the 68th minute. Maher tallied her second goal of the game and fifth of the season, this time unassisted to make it 2-2.
The teams combined for eight shots, four apiece, in the two 10 minute overtime periods but neither squad could find the sudden death goal. Rotach stopped seven shots for SUNY Canton, while Teagan Waddingham made 13 saves for Sage. The visitors held a 15-9 shots on goal edge in the contest.
