Women’s Soccer Outshoots Mustangs 31-12 in Double Overtime Tie

Box Score Morrisville, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team dominated play in the contest but neither team could find the back of the net as host Morrisville State and the Roos tied 0-0 after 110 minutes of action Tuesday evening. The Roos move to 7-8-2, while the Mustangs are now 8-6-1 on the season.

Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) led SUNY Canton with five shots on goal in the contest, while Jade Sayward (Willsboro, NY) challenged the opposing keeper four times on the evening. Katlyn Hart (Harrisville, NY), Karley Cree (Hogansburg, NY) and Alexis Sweet (Norfolk, NY) each tallied two shots on target apiece.

Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) stopped all five shots she faced in the contest for her fifth shutout of the season. Angela Marriott made 15 saves for Morrisville State.

The Roos held shots advantages in all four periods of play on Tuesday evening including a dominating 15-5 edge in the second half and 5-0 favor in the two overtime periods. Sayward had a golden opportunity two minutes into the second overtime period as her header attempt missed just high of the crossbar as the Mustangs held on for the tie.

The women's soccer team is back in action on Sunday when it hosts Hamilton College beginning at 12:00 p.m.
