Box Score (Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team rallied for a 67-64 win over Johnson State Tuesday night in Canton.

The Roos (2-3) found themselves down by as much as 10 points with 13:47 left in the second half before coming to life and reeling off a 13-4 run over the next six minutes thanks to a spark off the bench from freshman guard
Jessica Rhodes (Alpine, N.Y.) and freshman forward
Karina Stanford (New York, N.Y.). Standford bulled her way into the paint and hit a short jumper that trimmed the Badgers lead to 49-42 at the midway mark of the second half. Rhodes then pulled the Roos even closer on their next possession when she tossed in an acrobatic shot in the paint. Rhodes was fouled and sank the free throw to complete the three-point play knocking the lead down to six points, 51-45.
Junior forward
Kaitlin Myers (Dannemora, N.Y.) then scored on an offensive rebound and put back, Rhodes hit one of two free throw attempts and freshman forward
Cortney Whalen (Hammond, N.Y.) scored a basket in the paint and just like that the Badgers lead was down to one at 53-52 with 7:14 on the clock.
Johnson State clung to the lead over the next six minutes as both teams started trading baskets. Then with 90 seconds remaining, freshman guard
Corrine Riegel (Bainbridge, N.Y.) snagged an offensive rebound and fed Myers for a layup that knotted the game at 62-62. The Roos finally went ahead on a jumper from freshman forward
Jenise Torres (Albany, N.Y.). Johnson State tied the game on their next possession but the Roos answered again as Myers came up with a big steal and a converted a three-point play that proved to be the decisive points. The Badgers had one chance to tie the game but a 3-pointer from Courtney Shea missed the mark and the Roos hung on for the win.
Myers posted her first double-double with the Roos with 23 points and 16 rebounds. She also had four assists and two steals. Torres ended the game with 12 points and six rebounds.
Elissa St. Germain (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) came off the bench to add 11 points and six rebounds. And Whalen finished with eight points and eight boards.
Andrea Duell led the badgers with 24 points and five rebounds. Brittany Robertson canned five 3-pointers and had 19 points and three assists.
The Roos will next host Clarkson University on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 3 p.m.
