Barnes had a big opening weekend registering a goal and assist in a 2-0 win against SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday. She assisted the team’s first goal, the eventual game-winner, on a beautiful through ball leading the goal scorer (Jackson) to a one-timer to find the back of the net. Early in the second half Barnes helped to add a key insurance goal scoring on a breakaway. Overall, she had six shots on goal in the win and added another in Canton’s 2-0 loss to SUNY Poly on Friday.
