Alvarez had a monster performance posting a 43 save shutout (100% save %) to lead the Roos to a 0-0 tie at No. 15 nationally-ranked Oswego State on Saturday in her lone game of the week. The shutout is the third this season for the senior and the 11th of her career as she is just one shy of tying SUNY Canton’s career shutout record. It is also the most saves in a shutout by a Roo goaltender in program history. Alvarez stopped double digit shots in every period and six in overtime as the Roos penalty kill went 7-for-7 behind the strong play from their senior captain as she stopped six shots in OT including helping Canton kill off a pair of penalties. Coming into the weekend the Roos were 0-11 all-time v. the Lakers earning their first tie v. Oswego State.
