Hess recorded a pair of top 12 performances over two tournaments and 54 holes during the first week of the season. The senior finished in fourth place out of 52 competitors at the two-day, 36-hole St. Lawrence Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. Hess shot a round of 2-over par, 76 on Saturday followed by a 5-over par, 77 on Sunday. Earlier in the week on Thursday he posted a round of 11-over par, 83 to finish in a tie for 12th out of the 25-golfer field.
