The entire SUNY Canton men’s basketball team and coaching staff have been named this week’s Roos of the Week.

The men’s basketball team earned the first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in program history. This marks just the second NAC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in school history joining the 2019 women’s lacrosse team.

The Roos earned an 89-81 win v. Husson University in the NAC Semifinal on Friday and followed that up with a 72-71 win v. top seed and tournament host Maine Farmington on Saturday.

Joseph Werner was named the Tournament MVP after averaging 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Danny Santana and George Nehma both joined Werner on the All-Tournament Team.Santana averaged 18.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while Nehma had a averaged 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per outing including tallying a career-high 22 points in the semifinal win.
