Erdous Lebron and Maurizio Paniconi, both seniors on the men's soccer team and natives of Puerto Rico, have been extremely involved with SUNY Canton's Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria relief efforts this year. The duo spearheaded an effort to help their homeland recover from the devastating hurricane that struck Puerto Rico in September 2017. This past fall they partnered with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's Empire State Relief and Recovery Effort to organize a donation drive on campus. They collected supplies for about a month and organized them from around campus before sending them to their native land. The event was a huge success as 248 batteries, 190 flashlights, 173 packages of baby wipes, 136 hygiene products, 82 cases of water, 71 boxes of diapers, 11 gallons of water and a camping lantern were donated.

In early April Paniconi and Lebron along with their coaches teamed up with SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music to put on a free event for the public where over $1,600 was collected to benefit the Puerto Rico relief efforts.
