Puig was a fortress between the pipes all weekend for the Roos as he stopped an incredible 96 of the 99 shots he faced. The sophomore established a new career-high with 44 saves, including 20 in the final period to preserve the 3-2 win.

He followed that up with an even better performance on Saturday as he stopped 52 Greyhound shots, allowing just one goal. When SUNY Canton scored four straight goals in the second period it was Puig who stopped 22 shots in the frame to lead the Roos to victory. 

The men’s hockey team closes out its season this weekend when it returns home for a pair of contests against Franklin Pierce University. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Roos will celebrate Zach Hamilton Night during Friday’s game.
