SUNY Canton Set for First Annual Athletics Giving Week: April 12th-16th!

The SUNY Canton Athletics department is hosting its first annual Athletics Giving Week from April 12th to 16th, 2021. After flying by our initial goal of 250 donations we have set a new goal of 400 donations! Every gift large or small makes a big difference in supporting our student-athletes and department as we move forward. Any gift given up until April 16th at midnight will be included in our goal. Please consider making a gift today!

SUNY Canton men's hockey alumni gathered to celebrate 60 years of hockey prior to the men's hockey game against Skidmore College on November 23rd, 2019. SUNY Canton retired Cory Bercume's jersey and honored legendary coaches Terry Martin and Ronald "Obie" O'Brien.

SUNY Canton gave me the opportunity to learn and grow as an individual, friend, teammate, and leader. My time spent at Canton was valuable beyond words. I had so much fun making lifelong friends and memories I carry with me every day. I give back because I have such fond memories of my time at SUNY Canton. I was lucky enough to earn scholarships for my academics and I know still how important it was to me to be able to afford to play sports while in college.

I was able to meet great guys. I was able to play and get an education. I learned so many things from Coach Martin that I use today as a 53-year-old. The experience of traveling to Europe with the team and winning a National Championship was one of my favorite memories. I am proud to be giving back to the men's hockey program annually to pay tribute to what Coach Martin did for our teams while I attended SUNY Canton. Donations like these give Coach Boak the ability to go the extra mile for his players.

I choose to give back to SUNY Canton Athletics because of what my time on campus meant to me. I was a three-sport athlete competing on the women's hockey, lacrosse and soccer teams and that helped me so much in developing my time management skills. Canton is my home away from home and I met some of my best friends there and the things I learned in my classes and through playing three sports helped prepare me for my future!
