Parigi and Desrochers Earn NEWHL Honors

Syracuse, NY – Junior Alexa Parigi and freshman Hannah Desrochers have been recognized as the Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as announced on Tuesday.

Parigi had a big week posting three goals and three assists as the Roos went a perfect 3-0. Her best performance came to start the week when she tallied two goals and one assist as SUNY Canton defeated SUNY Potsdam 4-3 in overtime. She earned an assist on the team's first goal, then tied the game with 3:45 remaining in regulation. Parigi then tallied the game-winning goal just 56 seconds into overtime. The junior followed that up with a pair of assists in Friday's 10-0 win v. Anna Maria and recorded the team's first goal of the game in Saturday's 3-1 win v. the AMCATS. She finished the week with a +5 on-ice rating.
 
Desrochers finished the weekend with two goals and three assists in a 3-0 week for the Roos. She opened the week with an assist on the Roos game-winning goal in a 4-3 OT win v. Potsdam. The rookie followed that up with two goals and an assist in a 10-0 win v. Anna Maria. She also assisted the team's first goal in Saturday's 3-1 victory. She finished the week with a +3 on-ice rating.
